An impromptu Order meeting held at the Fillard Goldman Museum.[1]
Background
Dark Eyes (Kimberly S. Mitchell) decided to pay a visit to the Fillard Goldman Museum in hopes of meeting other Mystagogues. While there she bumped into Miach, who also happened to be visiting the museum for similar reasons. They quickly recognized each others' subtle cues and realized that they were both Mystagogues looking for the same thing.
As they were looking for a sign of where to find the Curator, the lovely Gina came to their rescue. She informed them that there was a conference meeting with the Curator in a glass-walled room at the top of the stairs. At this moment the group was approached by Aenigma, who had come to the Museum hoping to speak with Jack O. Falley, who the former Curator, Tyria Primoria, had told him to seek out.
Noctina and Demise both arrived shortly after that, and after a couple of brief introductions Dark Eyes lead the group up the stairs. However, none of them realized that they had been followed there by Toren (Wendel Schwarzenberg), who happened to lose the group as they walked up the steps and had to ask Gina rather awkwardly where the group of mages had gone to.
The Meeting
Once the group of new Mystagogues made it up to the conference room, they were welcomed by a variety of snacks and drinks that had been served for the purpose of their meeting with the new Curator. There was some brief chit chat amongst them as they waited for the Curator's arrival, which revealed that most of them were fairly new to the Concilium. In the meantime, Jack O. Falley, Dr. Primoria's successor, was trying to calm his nerves and get ready in the Curator's private office.
Eventually, Jack O. Falley strolled into the room, greeting those that were assembled there. After the some brief introductions, the new Curator decided it would be best to do a little "ice-breaker," suggesting folks introduce themselves to the rest of the Mystagogues in the room by saying their names, something they are good at, something they like to do on their spare time, and something they would like to do for the Mysterium.
At this point, Toren finally found the group, but he was lurking outside of the conference room, until Noctina decided to show one of the things she was good at by casting a quick scrying window on him and calling the lurker out, which of course was frowned upon by the new Curator. At this point Toren joined the rest of the group and the ice-breaker exercise continued.
However, the meeting was interrupted as a man in grey (The Question) knocked on the door and informed that the group that medical assistance was needed at the Museum's entrance. Miach rushed to the scene, and the man in grey and Jack followed close behind after he asked the rest of the group to stay put.
The group by the entrance encountered the bleeding man (Nicodemus), who urged the Curator to take a book from him and place it in the safety of the vaults. Miach performed first-aid on the man, while Jack asked Gina to call 911. He then handed the book to the man in grey to remove the blood from it, which he did in a bathroom nearby.
In the meantime, the group upstairs began to discuss the lack of an Athenaeum, or the idea that it may be hidden somewhere within the museum. Toren and Aenigma cast a couple of spells to see if they could acquire some information about the Museum grounds, but neither yielded the results they were looking for.
Once the ambulance arrived, Miach went along with the wounded man per the Curator's instructions, while the man in grey and the Curator returned to the meeting. Once they were back in the room, the man in grey introduced himself to the others as Emilio Rossi, and told the rest of the Mystagogues in the room about the incident with the wounded man and the book. Discussion on organizing a search party for the Athenaeum continued, and Jack also requested that the shooting and its relation to the book be investigated.
At that point, Aenigma volunteered to lead the investigation regarding the shooting, and requested that those helping with the investigation get a chance to take a look at the book. Demise also volunteered to help out in the endeavor, and Dark Eyes suggested that two teams be assembled; one to investigate the book and the shooting, and one to search for the Athenaeum. However, Noctina had other things in mind, and her biggest concern at the moment was that the location may have been compromised. Thus, she casted a spell and snuck out to the museum's entrance to make sure there were no problems down there.
Dark Eyes took lead on the investigation concerning the Athenaeum, and Toren quickly volunteered his skills towards the effort as well. Contact information was exchanged between the Mystagogues in attendance, in hopes that they could work together towards solving both issues in the near future. However, there was some tension between the man in grey and Aenigma, as they obviously had some differences in the way they should approach the investigation concerning the book and the man that had been shot as he delivered it.
But in the end, two teams were assembled to take care of both problems.
