Laurence is the Daughter of Marc Bruneton and Jane Williams. Her father is a big lawyer in Paris and her mother a former Hollywood star of the 50's, now completely forgotten except for a small community of fans in France, Quebec and Louisiana. She has grown in Paris as the one and only child of very demanding parents. She hasn't seen neither of them for her father was very busy at work and her mom a big socialite of the Parisian bourgeoisie. When she turned 18, she was sent to a very expensive law school for rich kids form all around the world in New-York.

There she had some flirt with boys but she quickly realized that she was more into girls. She had her first sex with a co-student from china called Min. While growing more confident, she became a real party-girl and began to feel like a real New-yorker. She met her second girlfriend in some underground event. A hippy life-styler named Jill. Jill and Laurence had a passionate relation and they both decided to move to LA and live together there. But soon there differences appeared too big to sustain the passion of the beginning. Laurence discovered that Jill was involved in some wiccan sexual stuff. Considering herself cheated, Laurence decided to dump her girlfriend.

After that she had been trough a short period of depression but fortunately she had some friends in the lesbian community. They introduced her to Maria, a police officer. It has been love at first sight. Maria and Laurence immediately felt a real connection with each other and one year after they met, they moved in together and prepared to plan having a child. Laurence had an in vitro fertilisation with anonymous sperm at the age of 21. They have been lucky and a little girl named Aurora was born after the first attempt.

With a child and all the consequences involved, the couple decided to both increase their incomes and reduce the danger in Maria's job. So the policewoman postulated for a promotion as a Detective in Sacramento. Laurence has quit her job in the French consulate and had been hired in a Lawyer office in Folsom. She had never been a diligent student so she only get a job as the assistant of a Defense Attorney for the residents of the Folsom prison. Laurence and Maria had chosen to live in a suburban community between both their working places. But the fate hit them hard. Few months after Maria was promoted to a supposedly less dangerous rank, she had been shot dead by some drug-addicted teenager.

Since then Laurence concentrated all her efforts in raising her daughter Aurora and used her work to avoid the sorrow. During the last year she started a therapy because she experienced nightmares and hallucinations. But her therapist mysteriously disappeared during the month, on a night of Half Moon. That night Laurence waked up naked in the woods. She had the luck to be found by an old Forsaken named Chuck. The redneck served as a mentor to her, explaining her new condition, introducing her to the world of the spirits and into his tribe of the Strom Lords (Chuck being in fact the last descendant of an old lineage of noble Urathas from Europe). Together they never formed an actual pack but they protected both their territories and had some kind of father-daughter relationship.

But too quickly Chuck died of old age, for he was already more than 100 years old, and awaiting death when they first met. His last words were about the importance of having a pack for the strength of Urathas come from union. Laurence is now a Werewolf by her own and she knows few about other Urathas apart from what Chuck told her (including some vigorous warnings about the Pures). Aurora is now 15 years old and she starts pushing boundaries in every direction. But she is also concerned about her mom. 2 days ago, it was Laurence's birthday and her teenager daughter made her the most unexpected gift: a blind date. She explained that she didn't wanted her mom to be sad and lonely anymore. So she arranged her a date with a girl that she found on some online dating service.

Laurence hasn't been dating anyone since Maria's death, in fact she became the solitary kind and finally found herself without even something close too a friend, let not speaking of a girlfriend. But the initiative of Aurora and the last words of her mentor opened her eyes on the fact that she can't be grieving forever. So even if she pretend not being enthusiast about that idea, she secretly expects that mysterious date with some apprehension.
