Michael Diggs was born in the town of Modesto in central California. Frankly beside being the previous home of the director American Graffiti, there was not much too do while growing up. So Michael found a way to keep himself busy, by putting stuffs together in the most unusual ways. He needed to do it and became quite good at it. He needed to express some kind of a inner beast within him. Finally when he was seventeen years old, the first change happened.
He received a strange and powerful vision and saw things that he couldn't imagine would have been real in the first place. This transformation was traumatic and his howl called the others Uratha in the vicinity who came to see a new cahalit being born. Not long after his first change, some iron masters living in Modesto wanted to have him within their ranks and sharing his prophetic dream, having lost theirs recently. They gave a task that appeared to be impossible at first but Michael succeeded by showing off his cunning and ability to improvise on the spot.
He joined a young pack but sadly, it didn't go too well when they tried to take a tribe of pure nearby. As his companions fell on the ground, they asked him to pick up their fetishes. Michael picked up the fireflash fetish from the alpha of his pack and the blessing of vigor from one of his best friend. His gadgets hadn't been enough to save his colleagues.
Michael was lost and confused for awhile, having lost his packmates and headed to Sacramento, hoping to join a new pack and this time makes a difference for them.
