Sites are businesses owned by player characters or non player characters which other characters can interact with. They 'exist' in the game, rather than just in Glimpses.
- All Sites require spending earned XP, you cannot use the bonus XP given at character creation. This is to ensure that players/characters have made an investment in the game and to keep "fly by night" businesses at a minimum.
- All Sites will require one month to 'open'.
- All Sites will now be represented by a single Merit:
Site (•••, ••••, or •••••)
Prerequisite: An equal or greater number of total dots in the following "enabler" Merits: Allies, Fame, Resources, or Status. In game terms, this means that a player may mix and match enabler Merits that fit the theme of the Site, and then purchase the Site Merit.
- ●●● is a "small" Site
- ex. a detective agency, represented by the enabler Merits Allies 1 (Police) and Status 2 (Investigator); small diner
- ●●●● is a "medium" Site
- ex. a large restaurant, represented by the enabler Merits Resources 2 and Fame 2 (Entertainment); small hotel
- ●●●●● is a "large" Site
- ex. a hotel, represented by the enabler Merits Resources 5
Note
The Staff Merit is not required to have a Site. The dots of the Site merit comes with staff and a manager. So your character is not required to handle the mundane day to day operations of the Site unless you so choose. You may also choose to have a Retainer run your business but it is, again, not necessary.
