Editing

Minisheets are an integral, custom function of our game. They are a miniature character sheet that appears alongside forums posts for reference. The Minisheets are made up of three major elements:

Creating and Editing

The Minisheets are accessed for creation and editing by the drop-down link in the top navigation bar. Although they are called Minisheets, the link is entitled "Edit Characters" because the Minisheet form is used in various ways -- not just for the Minisheets.

Note: Under the Edit Characters link in the sample, you'll notice specific links to specific characters. These will automatically appear as Minisheets are created. If you are creating your first sheet, these links will not appear.

The image to the right shows the Minisheet form. The top portion, marked with the green strip, is public information. The bottom portion, marked with the blue strip, is private information.

Note: The top selector shows "Cozette Muriel" in the example. If no Minisheets have been completed, it will show a "1". The numbers convert to character names as the sheets are filled out.

Public Information

Character Name and Venue

The Character Name is the most important element of the Minisheet. This field will not only display the character's name, but is used to grab the character's portrait from the Wiki to display it. Once this is filled out, that image will be displayed on the Edit form. This lets you verify that everything is working. The name entered here must match the name of the character's Wiki page. This is why it is important to fill out the Wiki page first. If this name does not match, the character's portrait will not be fetched, and various other things won't work right. BBCode should not be used.

Note: As an advanced technique, some players use this in their character accounts to display secondary pictures (Changeling Miens, Werewolves' alternate forms, etc). The Minisheet will append ".jpg" to whatever is entered here. So if you have "Bruce Wayne" as your first Minisheet, you could call up "Bruce Wayne Mien" here to display that image in a second Minisheet.

The Venue selector will determine what markers appear on your posts. A Vampire will display Blood Potency, whereas a Werewolf will display Renown. If the markers on your post display the wrong elements, it's because this was incorrectly selected.

Optional Info is one of the default fields displayed under your avatar. If you have a nickname for your character, it can be entered here. This gives some flexibility in what your posts look like. For example, if your Character Name and Wiki page are "Bruce Wayne", this could be "Batman". Alternately, it can be used to display something witty like "The Dark Knight", etc. BBCode should not be used.

Note: Some users use these fields to display Status on their character accounts. If you see a post with several lines of Status displayed under the portrait without selecting a Minisheet, this is how they do it.

Minisheet Display Name is the second most important element. This 'turns on' the Minisheet. Additionally, it is what is shown as the heading/title of the Minisheet when the Minisheet is selected. This can also be customized like the Optional Info, adding some flexibility.

Note: If this is blank, your Minisheet will not be displayed in your posts. BBCode can be used.

Minisheet Public Info is where additional information can be provided. Striking Looks, general appearance, Status, Fame, that sort of thing. BBCode can be used.

Private Information

This is, in essence, the bare bones of a character sheet. Attributes, Advantages, and Skills. It's pretty straight-forward.

Advantage is the catch-all term for what some people call the "Power Stat". Wyrd. Gnosis. Blood Potency. Primal Urge.

Willpower Sacrificed lets Storytellers know why your Willpower doesn't match your Resolve + Composure Attributes. This is modified every time a character sacrifices a Willpower dot for something like activating a Bloodline, relinquishing a Spell, etc.

Attributes and Skills are pretty self explanatory.

Character Sheet URL takes a little bit of work... but it will save you work in the long run. Go to the Character Sheets forum, and find your character sheet. Copy the URL from your browser's address bar, then paste it in here.

Note: Once this is done, a link will appear under your username selector in the top navigation bar, just like the first image. This will let you jump to your character sheet without navigating there every time.

Finishing Up

Once the character is edited, Save it. If you've done everything right:
