Description

Long dark-haired, dark-eyed, slim and muscular, standing at 5'3" and 130 lbs, with an angry piercing glare and an uncaring attitude. Number 99 tattooed on inside of left wrist.

New Developments

Upon entering Sacramento, Nieves heads to the Tur to join up with a pack, hoping to ensure survival in the bastion that is the River City. She meets with the Brotherhood, a pack of Rahu focused on fighting the Pure head on. Her disrespectful attitude and loose tongue earns her a quick beating and she leaves in shame and defeat. Her pride still aching she finds another pack that is looking to rebuild itself. The Sworn meet with Nieves and accept her into their ranks under the leadership of the Alpha, Jeremiah. Hoping to unite the pack through the bonds of teamwork, Jeremiah accompanies them into the Hisil to hunt for a Totem Spirit to aid them in their survival and development. Traveling through the Loci they encounter the manifestation of the Sworn's broken bonds, a Paint Spirit named Storm-of-Pain. After a swift bout, both sides receive harsh blows and their Alpha strikes a deal with the spirit, as a guardian of their Loci. Still, their search for a Totem Spirit continues.

History

Born in the spring of 1991, Nieves Werra was the child of a well known and admired martial arts teacher in Los Angelos, California. Teaching at the Inosanto Academy of Martial Arts, its founder famed as a student of Bruce Lee himself, Amado Werra spread his masters teachings of Filipino martial arts and passed them to his daughter at a young age. Always friendly and generous, it was a shock to the school to learn he had been murdered. Witnesses say he was defending the victims of an apparent assualt and was gunned down in the street coming home from the academy. His daughter was already present at the scene when police arrived, cradling her father's head in a pool of blood. The act was ruled out as a symptom of gang presence in the area and the murderer was never apprehended.

Nieves's mother had divorced Amado several years earlier and gave him full custody of Nieves, not wanting anything more to do with the family. Reluctantly, however, she allowed her to stay at her home, though it wasn't long before the neglect and indifference forced Nieves into the streets. Gifted with a talent for fighting by her father, she joined up with the 18th Street Gang, with the vague hope of finding her father's murderer amongst them. All she finds is torment and a mysterious attack by a feral street dog. At least she thought it was a dog... The next few days change everything however, as the mysogynistic and violent youths of 18th Street, easily provoked by her angry and independent nature, attacked her, triggering a transformation. The police found only fragments of indiscernable flesh and bone amidst the splatter of blood.

Nieves ran, ran away from LA and left those horrors behind. She hitchhiked her way to Sacramento, though still branded with the black/blue number "99" (9+9=18) on the inside of her left wrist. Without even a high school degree she lives homeless there without a pack to call upon and uncertainty in her future. Defensive, aggressive, and a short-tempered spit-fire, Nieves is unlikely to make friends anytime soon.
