An ongoing Story that began on March 23, 2014, in which members of the Invictus sought to dismantle a drug ring pumping the flesh-eating desomorphine derivative known as krokodil into the Asylum.

Setting the Stage

August Galloway and Jennifer Hazelton met Cozette Muriel, Asa Clarke's ghoul at Club Ember after the Invictus Meeting in March, 2014.

Ms. Muriel informed the Kindred that the Prince regulates criminal activities in his clubs. Apparently, the desomorphine derivative known as krokodil has been witnessed in or about the Asylum. The Kindred were tasked to investigate this, stamp out the krokodil infestation, and make sure that the media was not involved.

"Madame, I am under the impression that His Grace's restrictions would only involve the keeping of The Masquerade and his Law."^[1]

The Kindred were provided with a lead. Eyewitnesses to the event had been seen at the Ridge Motel. August Galloway and Jennifer Hazelton agreed to assist.

Finessing a Contact

Jennifer Hazelton wined and dined a college student contact of hers to try to get a meeting with the pusher of the drugs, saying she needed an interview with him for a paper on the socio-economic effect of drugs on impoverished mothers. She learned that the source of the drugs was a fellow named 'Carlos P', who works for the valet service at the Asylum. She also got his telephone number.

Reconnecting at Asylum

August Galloway and Jennifer Hazelton make their way to the Asylum, checking out the valet hub to see if they can find a connection to the drugs in play. They scan about to see who is doing what in the club, and realize that a particular waitress and a particular bartender are acting odd. The evidence of the drug operation in the club is there, but not having found Carlos P. yet, they elect to leave and meet up at Jennifer's flower shop.

Pruning the Weeds

The two investigators shared the information they had obtained about the waitress, the bartender, and a man who shook many hands. They concluded that these individuals are in on the distribution of the drugs.

Jennifer Hazelton and August Galloway discussed using the Blood to control the valet, but dismiss that as an option before Hazelton unsuccessfully began to try to find Carlos P. online. They decided to return to the the Asylum to get a meeting with the valet through his manager.

Applying the Pesticide

Jennifer Hazelton and August Galloway returned to the the Asylum seperately, Galloway to get the meeting and acquire the information necessary to bring the drug distribution ring down and Hazelton to provide surveillance through the use of Obfuscate.

August Galloway bribed the valet manager to point out Carlos P., revealing a big, teddy-bearish looking guy... who was a smoker. As Galloway went to speak with him, he lit a cigarette, and the Ventrue fled due to a sudden case of fear frenzy.

Jennifer Hazelton watches Carlos for a time and realizes that he is picking up specific vehicles, trading places in the valet driver queue to receive the drug hand-offs. It gets near closing time, and Hazelton realizes that as a member of the First Estate, she could call on Sir Peter Baldwin for assistance. The Knight attended the scene, was briefed, and offered the use of his criminal Orchestra to gain information at arm's length.

Jennifer Hazelton wished to investigate the valet directly that evening before calling on mortals, and the pair planned to lure Carlos P. somewhere quiet for questioning. Sir Baldwin found a place to do so, and the pair went to execute their plan...
