Biography

Heathcliff was a divorced, lecherous, part time dad, bleeding heart liberal, and mid-level civil servant in Sacramento’s Housing Authority when he was forcibly Embraced by his Sire, Sebastian, for reasons he just now is beginning to understand. The Nosferatu swore off his Sire and Kindred society for some time, but the Lost Nights forced him to reconnect with the city’s vampires. His familiarity with the machinations of bureaucracy vaulted him to the position of Seneschal, and after veiled threats against his ex-wife (Beth) and young daughter (Rachel), he agreed to take his place among the Sanctified.

Heathcliff became the city’s Bishop shortly before the Prince outlawed the covenant altogether, along with the Circle of the Crone and the Carthians. He continues to serve the Prince, cast once again amongst the unaligned, and keeps his faith privately. He also continues to serve the city’s Housing Authority, from home, under the guise of a medical condition.

The Seneschal usually dresses to obscure himself, even when the occasion calls for formal wear. Dark grey and black slacks, shirts, shoes, and ties are his typical attire. He drives a nondescript, late model dark blue sedan.

Curse

Heathcliff’s Curse manifests physically and socially. His grey eyes are wet and clouded, as though he were afflicted with cataracts, and his voice is constantly congested and nasal. Socially, it manifests as an aura of anxiety, guilt, and self-loathing. People tend to overlook him because they’d rather he not be there, and he doesn’t seem to mind this at all.
